Introduction to the Artist

I have been blessed to give birth to 5 beautiful and happy children, though I have carried 9.  My children are blood of my blood and bone of my bone.

A mother holds her babies within herself and comes to know them long before the world will. I am focused on this special relationship and its blessing and the antithesis, the loss of that connection. My children are blood of my blood and bone of my bone.

Mizuko Kuyo are shrines for the unborn.  They are not places of worship.  They are not connected to political views.  They are a place for mothers to mourn and reconnect with the water babies of their wombs who never breathed the air of life.

The rights of women to decide their own reproductive paths and to have access to proper medical care is threatened by politicians and activists who cannot understand this esoteric relationship.  These sovereign and sacred processes have no place in political discussion
